146 years since the Liberation of Bulgaria

On March 3rd, Bulgaria celebrates its National Day, known as the Day of Liberation of Bulgaria from Ottoman Empire. This holiday marks the end of the five-century Ottoman Empire in Bulgaria in 1878 and the establishment of the modern Bulgarian state. In 2024 Bulgaria commemorates 146 years of freedom.
The photos are from the city of Stara Zagora. Every year on March 3rd, a celebration takes place, marked by a 300-meter long national flag carried by servicemen from the Second Tundzha Mechanized Brigade. The flag passes through the entire central boulevard of the city and can be seen by every citizen. Finally, the military brigade covers the monument of the Samara Flag with the national flag at the Memorial Complex "Defenders of Stara Zagora."
